However, IT is developing rapidly. The market is constantly offering new opportunities. The average knowledge of specialists always lags a little behind developments and the complexity of IT is increasing. Continuous further training is therefore important in order not to lose touch. The buzzword ‘lifelong learning’ describes this situation: on the one hand, ICT specialists must constantly acquire new technical knowledge. On the other hand, requirements for ‘soft skills’ such as interpersonal communication or self-management are changing. New methods and additional technical possibilities also lead to changes in the organisation of companies and to new forms of cooperation or personnel management, e.g. when switching to an agile organisation.
A sound basic education combined with regular further training therefore form the foundation for a successful professional future in IT. There are many opportunities for this in Switzerland.
