The competency model does not state the scope, form, depth and complexity of the respective competency. Depending on the career and level of competency (junior, professional, senior, etc.), the competencies are required in varying scope and depth.

Basic skills required for the career, such as mathematics, accounting, technical English, etc., which are taught as part of school education or basic vocational training, are part of the “Training” requirement block and are therefore not explicitly listed as competencies.

With the creation of the competency model, divided into:

• Technical and methodological competencies
• Business/position-related competencies and
• Personal competencies

a major need for training was met. The competency model also helps with career guidance and assessments and self-assessments.

• Technical and methodological competencies are the basic competencies for practicing a career
• Business/position-related competencies are essential for communicating with customers as well as for developing and implementing applications and services
• Personal competencies characterize a person and are necessary to be able to respond appropriately to a challenging situation
